He worked a 2-hitter that included 2 hits and 12 strikeouts. "This was a well-played ballgame," Coal City coach Jerry McDowell said. "We made no errors and Colt Smith pitched outstanding. He located his pitches very well. Lisle was 15-4. We beat a good ballclub today." Both Coal City (13-8, 6-2) runs scored with 2 outs in the third inning. Alec Smith had a single that helped spark the rally, and Brandon Tidaback and Tom Taylor delivered clutch RBI singles.
