Mark Evans led the 3 Coalers who finished in double digits in points with 19. Nick Green came through with 16 and Alec Smith with 13. "Yorkville played 10, 11 players and was pushing the ball up the floor," said Coal City coach Chris Spencer. "I thought our guys did a nice job hustling back on defense. We did give up too many easy layups in the half court during the first half, but did a better job of containing the drives in the second half. ... We cut the lead to 2 a couple different times in the second half, but could not get over the hump." Coal City enters the consolation bracket, where it will play Monday at 10:30 a.m. versus Spring Valley Hall.
