COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Sophomore Addy Lang scored a goal and added two assists Saturday (Aug. 23), but it was not enough as the Columbus North girls soccer team lost to Lawrenceburg 4-3 in its season opener at Richard Wigh Soccer Complex.
Sophomore Audrey Schwier paced the attack for the Tigers, scoring three goals as the visitors improved to 3-0 in the new season. Junior Rachael Magee assisted on all three of Schwier's goals.
Schwier scored twice in the early going to give Lawrenceburg a quick 2-0 advantage. Lang countered with an unassisted goal in the 20th minute, and CN senior Claire Chambers tied the game in the 30th minute with Lang earning the assist.
Schwier completed her hat track in the 46th minute, and the Tigers extended their advantage to 4-2 with a CN own goal that was credited to Lawrenceburg freshman Hailee Hinthorne in the 58th minute. The Bull Dogs picked up the pressure late, junior Emma LaVelle finding the net in the 79th minute off a feed from Lang.
