CN's Eaton, Carr, Caldwell place in Midwest Meet of Champions

    GRANVILLE, Ohio -- Columbus North recent graduate Kaden Eaton placed second in the 3,200 on Saturday (June 14), helping the Indiana boys to a runner-up finish in the Midwest Meet of Champions at Granville High School.
    Eaton, a late entry into the meet for top graduating athletes from Indiana, Ohio and Michigan, covered eight laps in 9 minutes 12.20 seconds to finish just behind winner Bobby Johnson of Ohio in 9:12.01.
    CN teammate Andy Carr placed fourth in the 3,200 in 9:20.73.
    In the girls' 3,200, Columbus North Mackenzie Caldwell finished third in 11:01.10. Hannah Campbell of Ohio won the race in 10:40.76, while Kali Dent of Michigan was second in 10:44.20.
    Ohio swept both team competitions. The Buckeye boys amassed 264 to outscore Indiana with 111 and Michigan with 100. Ohio's girls took team honors with 214 points. Michigan followed with 158, and Indiana had 101.
