Patberg paces Junior All-Star girls past Seniors in Logansport

    LOGANSPORT, Ind. -- Columbus North junior Ali Patberg scored a team-high 14 points Monday evening (June 9), lifting the Indiana Junior All-Star girls to an 82-61 victory over the All-Star Senior girls.
    Patberg added six rebounds and game highs of five assists and four steals as the Junior girls overcame an early 10-1 deficit to defeat the seniors for the 10th time in 40 meetings in a series that began in 1996.
    CN senior Tayler Goodall scored three points with three rebounds and three assists for the All-Star girls.
    Jenna Allen of Bedford North Lawrence added 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Lamina Cooper of Lawrence North tallied 10 points and five rebounds for the Junior girls.
    Maura Muensterman of Evansville Mater Dei scored a game-high 16 points while Miss Basketball Whitney Jennings of Logansport chipped in 11 points for the senior girls.
    In the boys' game, Trevon Bluiett of Park Tudor poured in 30 points while Sean Sellers of Greensburg tallied 23 and James Blackmon Jr. of Marion contributed 22 as the All-Star senior boys overwhelmed the Juniors 140-91.
    Tyler Wideman of Lake Central produced 13 points and 16 rebounds, while Bryant McIntosh of Greensburg had 13 points for the seniors.
    Hyron Edwards of East Chicago Central paced the Junior boys with 16 points, and K.J. Walton of Brownsburg added 15 points. Josh Speidel of Columbus North provided six points for the Juniors.
    The teams square off in another doubleheader on Wednesday (June 11) at Columbus North. The girls' game begins at 6 p.m., and the boys' game follows. Admission is $6 per person.
