Columbus North JV softball edges Jennings County 8-7

    NORTH VERNON, Ind. -- Freshman Sydney Perry went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs Thursday (May 22), leading the Columbus North JV softball team to an 8-7 victory in eight innings at Jennings County.
    Freshman Kaitlyn Panning also went 2-for-3 for the Bull Dogs, who used six runs in the eighth inning to snap a 2-2 tie. But the host Panthers rallied for five runs in the bottom of the eighth to make for a thrilling final inning.
    Junior Allie Carr added two RBIs for CN, while freshman Madisyn Prince pitched a complete game for the winners.
    The Columbus North varsity returns to action at 4:30 p.m. Friday (May 23) when it hosts Hauser.
