No. 1 Carmel defeats Columbus North 5-0 in girls tennis

    COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Top-ranked Carmel made quick work of No. 18 Columbus North in girls tennis on Tuesday (May 13).
    Sisters Bailey and Lauryn Padgett claimed respective wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles for the Greyhounds, while Zoe Woods triumphed at No. 3 singles.
    Molly Fletchall and Emma Love teamed to prevail at No. 1 doubles, while Mary Voight and Elaina Vohra were victorious at No. 2 doubles.
    Senior Sara Vanderkolk and junior Sydney Anderson put up the best fight for the Bull Dogs (12-6). Fletchall and Love defeated Vanderkolk and Anderson 6-1, 7-5.
    At the JV level, Carmel won 9-0.
    Columbus North returns to action at 4:30 p.m. Thursday (May 15) when it visits No. 8 Greenwood. CN closes its regular season on Saturday (May 17) when it competes in a round-robin event at Terre Haute North.
