SEYMOUR, Ind. -- Junior Kelsay Lucas went 4-for-5 with a double and four RBIs on Friday (May 2), leading the Columbus North softball team to a 14-4 victory at Seymour in six innings.

Sophomore Christine Bombardiere pitched a six-hitter, striking out three while moving her record to 2-4, as CN pounded out 20 hits -- six extra base hits among them.
Columbus North snapped a 4-4 tie with a four-run fourth inning, then broke the game open with three additional runs in the fifth and sixth.
Brooks tripled to open the fourth and scored when Prall followed with a double. Lucas and senior Shannah Hercamp each added doubles and sophomore Tommi Stowers was hit by a pitch in the inning to complete the four-run burst.
Brooks and Prall started the sixth with singles, and both scored when Bombardiere doubled them home. A Stowers single brought in the third run of the inning.
Harney provided a leadoff home run in the sixth. Junior Sheana Wasilewski then singled, Brooks was hit by a pitch and Prall reached on a fielder's choice. Stowers and Lucas followed with singles to complete the flurry.
Columbus North took a 3-0 lead in the first inning when Brooks singles, Prall doubled, Bombardiere walked, Lucas singled and Hercamp singled. Seymour made it 3-2 in the bottom of the inning when senior Devon Joray singled home two runs.
The Owls tied the game in the second when freshman Haley Westfall singled, and she scored on a double by sophomore Baylee Robinson.
CN went ahead 4-3 in the third when Lucas singled and later scored on a Harney single. However, Seymour re-tied the game in the bottom of the inning when Joray singled, moved to second on a ground out and scored on a single by freshman McKenna Curry.
That made it 4-4 entering the fourth when the Bull Dogs outscored the Owls 10-0 over the final three innings.
Columbus North returns to action at 5 p.m. Monday (May 5) when it hosts Edinburgh at the Northside Middle School diamond. CN follows by traveling to Indian Creek at 5:30 p.m. Thursday (May 8).
