Columbus North girls tennis blanks Jeffersonville 5-0

    JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. -- Freshman Aubrey Smith and junior Rosemary Yonushonis each dropped just one game Friday (April 18), leading the No. 17 Columbus North girls tennis team to a 5-0 victory over Jeffersonville in the opening round of the Jeffersonville Invitational.
    Smith rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 1 singles, while Yonushonis took a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.
    Sophomore Paige Littrell posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles, while senior Sara Vanderkolk and junior Sydney Anderson as well as juniors Alex Friend and Brooke Richardson prevailed in doubles.
    Vanderkolk and Anderson battled to a 7-6, (7-5), 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles. Friend and Richardson won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
    Columbus North improved to 4-3 with the win. The Bull Dogs will play New Albany at 9 a.m. They follow with a match against Castle about noon.
