Shelbyville beats Columbus North 11-2 in JV baseball

    COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Visiting Shelbyville scored three runs in the second inning and four more in the seventh to post an 11-2 victory over Columbus North in JV baseball on Tuesday (April 8).
    Junior Ben Baker went 1-for-3 with one run and an RBI for the Bull Dogs, but it wasn't enough as they dropped their season-opening game.
    The visiting Golden Bears used a three-run home run in the second to pull ahead, then followed with a grand slam in the seventh to seal the result.
    The Columbus North JV baseball team returns to action at 6 p.m. Thursday (April 10) at Fishers.
    The CN varsity opens its season at 6 p.m. Thursday (April 10) against Fishers at its new diamond at Southside Elementary School. The first 100 fans to the varsity game will receive a free CN baseball T-shirt.
