Columbus North tops Seymour 54-19 in wrestling

    COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Seniors Mason Day and Luke Teague recorded early pins Thursday (Jan. 9), leading the Columbus North wrestling team to a 54-19 victory over Seymour at the Bill Stearman Athletic Complex.
    Senior Will Speaker, senior Cody Speaker and junior Braden Hinckley also added pins for the Bull Dogs, who improved their season record to 13-9 in dual matches.
    Other CN winners included senior Andrew Jones and junior Jake Larson with decisions. Also, junior Brandon Woods, senior Kenny King and senior Evan Speaker captured forfeit victories.
    The Bull Dogs return to action at 8:30 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 11) when they compete in the eight-team Old Capital City Classic at Corydon Central. Floyd Central, Zionsville and host Corydon Central are among the schools in the field for that event.
