3A No. 10 Brownstown Central beats Columbus North 3-0 in volleyball

COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Junior Riley Wischmeier knocked down 13 kills Thursday evening (Sept. 19), lifting Class 3A No. 10 Brownstown Central to a 3-0 victory over host Columbus North.
Senior Regan Harrison and junior Brooke Ebbing each added eight kills for the Lady Braves, who improved to 12-5 with the 25-13, 25-21, 25-20 triumph. Seniors Trinity Booher and Nicole Thomas each contributed three aces for the winners.
Junior Makinsey Summa recorded 10 kills and sophomore Avery Wendel tallied six kills to pace the Bull Dogs (6-7). Junior Karen Wildemann provided 16 assists. Junior Hannah Vittorio notched 12 digs, and senior Devon Roese had 11 digs.
Brownstown Central also won both sub-varsity matches.
The Lady Braves took a 25-12, 25-13 decision at the JV level. Sophomore Hannah McKinney led Columbus North with 12 assists.
At the freshman level, Brownstown Central won 25-23, 25-22. Imani Guy tallied six kills, while Madelin Johnson had 14 assists to lead the Bull Dogs. Alisha Adams chipped in three aces for CN.
Columbus North returns to action at all three levels in three separate events on Saturday (Sept. 21).
The CN varsity is in the New Albany Invitational. There it will face Castle, Floyd Central and have a rematch with Brownstown Central in pool play. It will face either New Albany, Jasper, Jeffersonville or Silver Creek in a placement round match. Action begins at 9 a.m.
The Columbus North JV competes in the Roncalli Invitational. Action starts there at 9 a.m.
The CN freshmen host the Columbus North Invitational. The Bull Dog rookies open play against Columbus East at 9 a.m. They also face Brown County, Bloomington North and Jennings County in later matches.
