Columbus North boys tennis blanks Franklin Central 5-0

INDIANAPOLIS -- Senior Krishan Narsinghani didn't drop a game Tuesday (Sept. 3), leading the Columbus North boys tennis team to a 5-0 victory over Franklin Central.
Narsinghani defeated the Flashes' Brooks Riley 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles as the Bull Dogs improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Conference Indiana matches.
Senior Luke Red, sophomore Rahul Jha and the tandem of sophomores Aditya Mantri and Kevin Luo also won in straight sets.
Red beat FC's Nick Southwood 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Jha topped the Flashes' Matt Southwood 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Mantri and Luo beat FC's Clayton Moore and Peter Steckbeck 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Juniors Anthony Sanders and Jake Likens had to go three sets, but they completed the sweep with a 4-6, 6-4, 10-4 victory over Franklin Central's Ben Sprinkle and Jake Sprinkle.
Columbus North also prevailed 8-5 in the JV competition, moving the Bull Dogs to 3-0 at that level.
"Franklin Central was short-handed for this match, so it went as it should have," CN coach Kendal Hammel said. "Our guys played pretty well."
The Bull Dogs return to action at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 4) when they host Columbus East. They follow by hosting Lawrence Central at 5:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 5).
