Columbus North-Bloomington North girls soccer game suspended

COLUMBUS, Ind. -- The Columbus North girls soccer team led 1-0 over Bloomington North just over eight minutes into the game on Wednesday evening (Aug. 28) when the contest was suspended because of lightning.
The game will be resumed with 31:17 remaining in the first half at a time to be announced after officials from both schools confer and agree to a date.
Junior Olivia Stewart scored for the Bull Dogs in the eighth minute to give CN the early edge. Senior Kenadie Carlson assisted on the goal.
Columbus North was credited with a 2-0 victory in the JV game, although the game was stopped with about 12 minutes to go in the second half. Sophomore Kennedy Ward and freshman Chloe Chambers scored the goals for the Bull Dogs.
CN returns to action on Saturday (Aug. 31) as part of the annual soccer quadruple-header against Columbus East -- boys JV at 2 p.m., girls JV at 4 p.m., boys varsity at 6 p.m. and girls varsity at 8 p.m.
