Home » Swimming & Diving NewsForce, medley relay pace Columbus North in JV swim invitationalJanuary 23, 2013 Columbus North High School COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Freshman Margy Force took the 100-yard butterfly and contributed to the winning 200 medley relay Wednesday night (Jan. 23), leading the Columbus North effort in the JV Swimming Invitational at the Charles "Chick" Newell Natatorium.
Force clocked a time of 1 minutes, 12.99 seconds in capturing the blue ribbon in the 100 fly, while she was joined by twin sister Betsy Force, junior Mackenzie Bennett and sophomore Nikita Patil in claiming the relay crown. They were timed in 2:23.23.
Those were the only two event winners for Columbus North in the competition which also included athletes from Bloomington North, Bloomington South, Franklin Central and Perry Meridian. No team scores were kept.
CN athletes also placed second in five other events.
Bennett was runner-up in the girls' 100 free in 1:09.33 and the 100 breast in 1:27.22, while Betsy Force was second in the 500 free in 6:55.95. Lauren Tucker placed second in girls' diving with 119.70 points, while Bennett, Betsy Force, Margy Force and Rachel Huss were second in the girls' 400 free relay in 4:41.12.
