CN's Shaw named All-American by NSCAA

Columbus North senior Brad Shaw has been selected an All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Shaw scored 17 goals and added eight assists in 2012 for the Bull Dogs, who went 17-1-4 and won the Class 2A state championship. He also scored the only goal in the 1-0 victory over Warsaw for the state title.
“I think Brad is a fine reflection of Columbus North soccer and our community, as well,” CN boys soccer coach Andy Glover told The Republic. “This accomplishment is reflective of what the Columbus North soccer framework is able to produce. Having two in two years really shows what some hard work in our framework can accomplish.”
Shaw is the second North soccer player in as many years to earn All-America recognition from the NSCAA. Devon Orben, now a freshman at IUPUI, was honored after leading the Bull Dogs to the Class 2A state runner-up finish in 2011.
“It’s kind of a surprise, but it’s probably one of the best achievements I’ve ever done," Shaw told the newspaper. "I’m very, very happy.”
