Home » Wrestling NewsJennings County defeats Columbus North 48-19 in wrestlingDecember 14, 2012 Columbus North High School COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Columbus North athletes prevailed in five positions Tuesday evening (Dec. 11), but the Jennings County wrestling team defeated the Bull Dogs 48-19 in a dual meet at the Bill Stearman Athletic Complex.
Senior Zeke Gomez prevailed at 132 pounds, while junior Luke Teague won convincingly at 195 pounds.
Other CN winners were by junior Will Speaker (113), junior Cody Speaker (120) and junior Kenny King (285).
Columbus North dropped to 13-9 in dual meets with the result.
"I believe we could have done better, but we are still very young," CN assistant coach Carl Hildinger told The Republic. "Jennings County has a very good team. But we lost a forfeit, and we had to wrestle three kids up a weight class. So overall, I'm pleased with the way we wrestled."
Columbus North does not compete again until after Christmas in the Spartan Classic on Dec. 28-29 at Connersville.
