James, a goalkeeper, was chosen second-team all-state. Carlson, a midfielder, was selected third-team all-state. Together, they led the CN girls soccer team to an 8-8-3 season that included a sectional championship.
James, a University of Dayton recruit, posted eight shutouts and a 1.30 goals-against average for the Bull Dogs.
