Shoultz honored as MVP of Columbus North volleyball

    Senior Quin Shoultz was chosen MVP of the Columbus North volleyball team at the squad's season-ending banquet on Nov. 6.
    Shoultz, a setter, led the team with 449 assists while adding 63 kills and 180 digs despite missing numerous matches because of injuries. She also was selected first-team all-Conference Indiana.
    Sophomore Karen Wildemann was winner of the Bull Dog Award. The 5-8 Wildemann contributed 152 kills, 226 digs, 40 service aces and 162 assists as CN posted a 10-25 record.
    Sophomores Autumn Kavelman and Hannah Vittorio also captured special awards. Kavelman was winner of the Casey Cooley Award, and Vittorio was presented the Jolie Crider Award.
    Shoultz was recognized as the team captain, and she was joined by nine others as varsity letterwinners -- Wildemann as well as juniors Mara Krempel, Tessa Krempel and Devon Roese; sophomores Hayley McMahon, Alexa Pelley, Janelle Peters and Makinsey Summa; and freshman Avery Wendel.
    Sophomore Taylor Stamper was selected MVP of the Columbus North JV team. Others on that squad were Kavelman, sophomore Sarah Boldrey and freshmen Anne Marie Kiel, Chase Leslie, Hannah McKinney, Grace Sonderman, Shelby Stamper and Olivia Teague.
    Those recognized as freshman team members were Shayla Beard, Rachel Copeland, Hannah Kelley, Delaney Maddix, Bailey O'Connor, Lilly Pham, Emily Pollitt and Sydney Talkington.
