Shelbyville tops Columbus North 3-0 in volleyball sectional

Columbus North High School BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Class 4A No. 8 Shelbyville defeated Columbus North 3-0 in a Sectional 14 volleyball semifinal Saturday (Oct. 20) at Bloomington South.
The Golden Bears advanced to play No. 3 Columbus East (29-4) in the championship match. The Olympians prevailed 3-1 in the title match by scores of 21-25, 25-19, 25-23, 23-16, improved to 30-4 and will host Center Grove in a regional match at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Columbus East beat Bloomington North 3-0 in the other semifinal.
In the semifinals, Shelbyville (27-5) captured the sets 25-14, 25-15, 25-6 over the Bull Dogs, who finished their season 10-25. Columbus East won 25-13, 25-14, 25-11 over the Cougars (16-14).
