Columbus North High School COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Senior Brad Shaw scored two goals Wednesday evening (Oct. 3), lifting the Class 2A No. 6 Columbus North boys soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Seymour in the Columbus North Sectional.
Senior Reid Wilson added a goal and an assist for the Bull Dogs, who improved to 11-1-4 and earned a spot in the sectional final at 7 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 6) at the Richard Wigh Soccer Complex. They will face Columbus East (14-3-1), a 5-0 winner over Scottsburg, in the title game.
After a scoreless first half, Shaw broke the deadlock off a feed from senior Robbie Hughes. Wilson scored an unassisted goal to make it 2-0, but Seymour (8-6-3) countered with a goal by senior Andrew Baliliff.
Shaw took a pass from Wilson and pushed CN's advantage to 3-1, resulting in the final.
