Columbus North boys tennis wins sectional championship

Columbus North High School COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Junior Krishan Narsinghani and freshman Kevin Luo rolled to victories without losing a game Friday (Sept. 28), leading the Columbus North boys tennis team to a 5-0 victory over Brown County for the championship of the Columbus North Sectional.
Narsinghani defeated Brown County junior Nate Miller at No. 2 singles and Luo blitzed BC junior Shane Franklin at No. 3 singles by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores as the No. 13 Bull Dogs improved to 16-3.
At No. 1 singles, CN sophomore Anthony Sanders outlasted Eagles senior Duncan Ricci 7-6 (4), 6-4.
In doubles, Columbus North junior Luke Red and senior Ernest Xi beat Brown County junior Bryce Fish and sophomore Evan Rose 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 while CN sophomore Mitchell Miller and freshman Aditiya Mantri cruised past Eagles junior Brady Rose and sophomore Dakota Patterson 6-1, 6-1.
Brown County finished 11-10.
Columbus North advances to the Seymour Regional, playing in a semifinal there at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 2) against the winner of the Bloomington South Sectional (Bloomington South or Bloomington North).
Greensburg, winner of the Jennings County Sectional, and the Seymour Sectional champion (Scottsburg or Austin) square off in the other semifinal. The regional final is at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 3).
