Columbus North boys soccer edges Fort Wayne Canterbury 4-3

     FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Senior Brad Shaw and junior Riley Belding each produced a goal and an assist Friday night (Sept. 14), lifting the Columbus North boys soccer team to a 4-3 victory over Fort Wayne Canterbury in the opener of the Canterbury Invitational.
     The Class 2A No. 4 Bull Dogs improved to 9-0-1, while the Cavaliers fell to 6-4-1.
     Junior Andre Abedian and classmate Keaton Voegerl also added goals for CN, while senior Chris Gorbett contributed an assist.
     Their collective effort overcame an outstanding performance by Canterbury junior Britt Watts, who scored three goals for the Cavaliers. Senior Shane Crines and sophomore Rece Buckmaster added assists for the home team.
     Canterbury took a 1-0 lead at the half, but Columbus North outscored the Cavaliers 4-2 in the final 40 minutes to capture the contest.
     The Bull Dogs are back in action at 11 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 15) when they face Northridge in their final game of the Canterbury Invitational. CN follows by visiting Bloomington South at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 18).
