Columbus North boys tennis routs Southport 5-0

      COLUMBUS, Ind. -- The Columbus North boys tennis team rolled to a quick victory Thursday (Sept. 13), blowing past Southport 5-0 in a Conference Indiana match.
      The No. 17 Bull Dogs improved to 10-3 overall and finished 5-2 in league matches.
      Freshman Kevin Luo, freshman Rahul Jha and sophomore Jake Likens each posted 6-0, 6-0 victories in singles matches. Luo defeated Southport's Stephen Broadhead, Jha topped the Cardinals' Adams Coomes and Likens beat Southport's Khan Kian Mung.
      Juniors Luke Red and Nick Littrell topped Southport's Austin Stephenson and Bill Cross 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Also, sophomore Mitchell Miller and freshman Aditiya Mantri blanked the Cardinals' Alex Darland and Jared Hunsicker 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
      Columbus North went 4-0 in JV matches to improve to 11-0 for the season at that level.
      The Bull Dogs return to action on Saturday (Sept. 15) when they compete in the Silver Creek Invitational. They open at 10 a.m. against the host Dragons, then follow with matches against Greensburg and Heritage Christian.
