Columbus North boys soccer beats East Central 4-0

Columbus North High School COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Senior Reid Wilson got Columbus North on the board, and the Class 2A No. 4 Bull Dogs went on to post a 4-0 boys soccer victory over visiting East Central.
Junior Keaton Voegerl, senior Brad Shaw and junior Parker Hirsch each added second-half goals for Columbus North, which improved to 7-0-1.
Junior Will Bridgeman contributed two assists, while senior Tony Gonzalez had one assist in the game at Richard Wigh Soccer Complex.
Junior Ben Davis and senior Chase Francoeur each played a half in goal -- Davis making two saves and Francoeur making three.
Columbus North also won the JV game 3-0. Sophomore Jerret Stark notched a goal and two assists to pace the Bull Dogs in that game. sophomore Byron Barger and freshman Tyler Heathcoate also had goals, while junior Matt VerPlank and freshman Preston Grimes combined for the shutout.
The Bull Dogs return to action at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 13) when they face Perry Meridian at Mary Bryan Elementary School in Indianapolis. They follow by competing in the Fort Wayne Canterbury Invitational, facing the host Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. Friday (Sept. 14) and playing Northridge at 11 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 15).
