Home » Cross Country NewsColumbus North cross country sweeps Columbus East in dual meetsSeptember 5, 2012 Columbus North High School COLUMBUS, Ind. -- The Columbus North cross country teams swept Columbus East on Tuesday (Sept. 4) in a pair of dual meets at Ceraland.
Senior Karson Tays, junior Andy Carr and sophomore Chase Ballard led the ninth-ranked Bull Dog boys to a 15-50 victory. Junior Mackenzie Caldwell, senior Rachael Sollman and freshman Sierra Lax paced the fifth-ranked CN girls to an identical 15-50 triumph.
"We worked hard, and this was good to work on our level of toughness," CN coach Rick Weinheimer said. "Much of that was due to Mother Nature as it was a sticky, harm, humid day. It hurt our times, but it will make us tougher.
"When we get a cool, crisp day, we will be fast. This was a solid meet between several invitationals to get us ready for the Eagle Classic (Saturday at Brown County)."
The CN boys claimed the top seven places and 12 of the top 13 against the Olympians. The Bull Dog girls claimed the top 11 spots against their intra-city rivals.
Columbus North is back in action at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 8) at the Eagle Classic. The Bull Dogs then take a week off before competing Sept. 15 in the FlashRock Invitational at Northview Christian Church in Carmel.
