Smith, Abedian propel Columbus North to boys soccer win

Columbus North High School COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Junior Ethan Smith scored two goals and classmate Andre Abedian added two assists Thursday (Aug. 30), leading the Class 2A No. 12 Columbus North boys soccer team to a 4-1 victory over Franklin Central at the Richard Wigh Soccer Complex.
Senior Brad Shaw and junior Sergio Jiminez each added a single goal for the Bull Dogs, who improved to 3-0-1 overall and 2-0-0 in Conference Indiana. Smith and junior Parker Hirsch each added an assist for the winners.
Senior Chase Francoeur and junior Ben Davis split time in goal for CN.
Columbus North also won the JV game 3-0.
The Bull Dogs return to the pitch at 11:30 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 1) when they host Westfield at the Richard Wigh Complex. They follow with a pair of league games next week -- visiting Lawrence Central at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 6) and hosting Pike at 2:30 p.m. next Saturday (Sept. 8).
