Bloomington North edges Columbus North 3-2 in boys tennis

Columbus North High School BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Junior Krishan Narsinghani won in straight sets at No. 3 singles, but it wasn't enough as the No. 15 Columbus North boys tennis team dropped at 3-2 decision at No. 14 Bloomington North.
Junior Kamal Maharjan and senior Pascal Lee captured the other point for the Bull Dogs, winning their match at No. 2 doubles in the Conference Indiana encounter.
Narsinghani defeated Bloomington North's Hank Hasler 6-2, 6-2, while Maharjan and Lee topped the Cougars' Bryce Aldridge and Hans Reiss 7-6, 6-2.
Matthew McCoy, Peter Leonard and the tandem of Sam Wisen and John Isaacson claimed matches for Bloomington North.
McCoy blitzed CN freshman Rahul Jha 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Leonard beat Bull Dogs sophomore Anthony Sanders 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
In the decisive point of the match, Wisen and Isaacson defeated CN senior Ernest Xi and junior Luke Red 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.
Columbus North (1-1, 0-1 CI) returns to action at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 28) when it hosts Franklin Central in another league encounter. The Bull Dogs follow by visiting Columbus East at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 29).
