Home » Girls' Golf NewsColumbus North girls golf places fifth in Fuzzy Zoeller InvitationalAugust 1, 2012 Columbus North High School SELLERSBURG, Ind. -- Sophomore Sydney Anderson shot a 3-over-par 75 on Tuesday (July 31), leading the Columbus North girls golf team to a fifth-place finish in the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational at Covered Bridge Golf Club.
Anderson's effort gave her a tie for sixth individually and led the Bull Dogs to a 345 team total. Senior Emily Morris added an 88, while junior Sam McQueen and sophomore Morgan Deis each contributed a 91. Junior Lauren Backmeyer completed CN's lineup with a 94.
Bloomington South fired a 311 to capture the team championship. The Panthers were led by a pair of 73s from freshmen Emma Fisher and Cherise Otter.
Center Grove placed second with a 321 followed by Jasper at 330, Evansville North at 335 and Columbus North and Floyd Central both with 345s.
Columbus North returns to action at 9 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 2) when it competes in the Martinsville Invitational at Fox Cliff Golf Course. The Bull Dogs follow by competing at 9 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 4) in the Greensburg Invitational at Greensburg Country Club.
