Columbus North graduates claim City golf championships

Columbus North High School Columbus North graduates Coleman Glick and Taylor Gohn each won Columbus city golf championships on Sunday (July 22).
Glick, a 2011 CN graduate, seized the Columbus Men's City Championship with a final-round 70 at Otter Creek Golf Club. That gave the Tusculum (Tenn.) College sophomore-to-be a three-round total of 207 and a three-stroke victory over Kenny Chavis.
Columbus North junior-to-be Michael VanDeventer was third at 213.
The first two rounds of the men's tournament were played July 14 and 15 at Greenbelt Golf Course and Harrison Lake Country Club.
Gohn, a 2010 Columbus North grad, won her second consecutive Columbus Women's City Championship with a closing 68 at Otter Creek. That gave the University of Missouri junior-to-be a two-round score of 138 after a first-day total of 70 on Saturday (July 21) at Greenbelt.
Gohn finished 13 strokes ahead of runner-up Sydney Anderson, a Columbus North sophomore to be. Caroline Smith and Kathy Smith tied for third with 164s.
