Columbus North duo cited by ICGSA in softball

Columbus North High School Columbus North senior Emily Scheidt has been named third-team all-state in softball by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association.
Scheidt, a shortstop, had a team-best .389 average with 18 RBIs for the 18-12 Bull Dogs, who claimed a sectional championship.
Senior Michelle Murphy was selected first-team academic all-state by the ICGSA. Murphy, an outfielder, hit .264 for the season.
Scheidt was an honorable mention academic all-state choice.
In the team's season-ending banquet on May 31, Scheidt was recognized as the MVP and Murphy was chosen winner of the Bull Dog Award.
