FRANKLIN, Ind. -- Senior Jaclyn Gill and junior Lindsey Britt each won two individual events Wednesday (May 9), leading the Columbus North girls track team to a 104-19 dual meet victory at Franklin.

The Grizzly Cubs won the boys' meet 65-48.

Both meets were abbreviated because of inclement weather.

Gill won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.47 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 49.97, while Britt captured the 200 in 27.53 and the long jump in 15-8 1/2.

Seven other CN girls claimed individual crowns. They were sophomore Mackenzie Caldwell in the 3,200 (11:11.08), sophomore Gabby Sims in the 1,600 (5:17.72), senior Macey Thornburg in the 800 (2:28.22), freshman Hannah Poindexter in the 400 (1:05.10), freshman Olivia Malone in the 100 (12.62), sophomore Tessa Krempel in the discus (108-3) and junior Kaci Tompkins in the high jump (4-10).

The Bull Dogs also won all three relays -- the 4x800 in 10:08.31, the 4x100 in 52.79 and the 4x400 in 4:14.87.

Coach Steve Tyler was particularly happy with Sims in the 1,600 and Malone in the 100. Sims nearly broke into the school's all-time top 10 in the 1,600 in the first time she ran the event. Malone won the 100 in her first time in that event.

In the boys' competition, senior David Powell, junior Joe Gedeon and sophomore Kaden Eaton claimed blue ribbons for Columbus North.

Powell won the 3,200 in 9:44.15, Gedeon claimed the 110 hurdles in 14.75 and Eaton captured the 1,600 in 4:48.32.

CN also won the 4x800 -- Powell teaming with Kevin Rudzinski, Karson Tays and Blaike Travis to prevail in 8:33.47.

Columbus North is back on the track for sectionals next week. The girls compete in the Franklin Sectional on Tuesday (May 15). The boys host the CN Sectional next Thursday (May 17).
