Columbus North High School

Austin Smith, a 2010 Columbus North graduate, is a sophomore tennis player at Ball State.
Smith had a 23-14 singles record in 2011-12 for the Cardinals in their recently completed season. He also posted 10-8 in doubles matches. BSU's team went 18-10 in dual matches.
Smith was a first-team all-state selection all four years he competed at Columbus North, leading the Bull Dogs to a fourth-place state finish in 2007 and a third-place finish in 2008.
Smith's mother, Terralin Schurr Smith, lettered in tennis at Ball State from 1981-84. His grandfather, Terry Schurr, is a retired BSU professor who lettered in men's basketball at the school from 1956-58.
Smith is majoring in pre-medicine at Ball State.
