CN's Taylor chosen All-Area Boys Swimmer of the Year
March 20, 2012
Columbus North High School Columbus North sophomore Cody Taylor has been named the 2012 All-Area Boys Swimmer of the Year by The Republic, the newspaper announced Tuesday (March 20).
He is one of nine CN athletes who were recognized on the newspaper's All-Area Team.
Joining Taylor on the first team were senior Kevin Brinegar, senior Conner Conroy, senior Dylan Jones, sophomore Sam Loescher, junior Sam Parker and sophomore John Rupp.
Freshmen Matthew Freudenthaler and Zachary Zeigler were honorable mention selections.
Taylor placed third in the 200-yard individual medley and fourth in the 100 breaststroke at last month's IHSAA State Finals. He also contributed to two top-five relays as the Bull Frogs finished sixth in the team standings.
“A year from now, I want to win state,” Taylor told the newspaper. “Two years from now, my goal would be to win state again (and) hopefully get some state records.”
