Home » Football NewsStandifer to play for Big Blue!!!June 2, 2011 By Wyideopen Video Productions of Wyideopen Sports Jun 2nd 2011 Anthony Standifer: 2012 Michigan Wolverine — Cornerback — ProfileAnthony Standifer: 2012 Michigan Wolverine — Cornerback — Profile GBMWolverine readers: Here is a brief overview of recent commitment Anthony Standifer from Crete-Monee High School — Crete, Illinois. GBMWolverine Recruiting Profile for Michigan Commit Anthony Standifer. Height: 6’1
![]() Anthony Standifer Overview: We based our evaluation on Anthony from his Junior year film, but reportedly he had an outstanding workout which lead to much more interest in him. Anthony is a physical cornerback prospect, one who could also play safety. Anthony also has the skills to help on special teams. He is long and rangy with a good frame and long arms. Anthony had 44 tackles and 9 interceptions in his junior year and has a 2.7 GPA. Strengths: Anthony is excellent in run defense and fills the lane/alley well. He maintains proper leverage in run support and is a solid tackler. He shows good reaction and quickness coming out of breaks. Reads routes, has good ball skills and also shows very good hands. Anthony does a good job covering punts. Needs work: Anthony is not a burner, and perhaps more than anything will need to improve his explosiveness and overall speed. He plays a bit stiff and even though he hips out okay it is not a fluid and smooth hip movement. He sometimes gives up deep leverage, which always makes us a bit nervous. His fundamentals also need to improve, including bending his knees, developing a better stance, and improving footwork.
GBMWolverine believes he will red-shirt his freshman year. Anthony Standifer reminds the GBMWolverine Staff of — Former Michigan Football Player — Jeremy LeSueur — who played Cornerback. Video Highlights:
