May 16, 2014
Cleveland High School

Cleveland Baseball gets 9th win of season behind brilliant pitching from freshman Eli Morse, 4H 5K. Two key defensive stops by the Warriors in the seventh prevent Franklin from getting in the game. Malik Austin shortstop makes a long-range run beyond second to get first out of inning. Centerfielder Spencer Smyth followed with a diving catch in right center for out two, and Austin records final out on a routine ball to short. Final 2-0 over Franklin, taking series 2-1 and outscoring the Quakers 9-2.

Tomorrow's game, Cleveland plays PIL champion Madison ranked 8 in state of Oregon 5A for the final game of league play. Game starts at 4:30 Powell Park.

Alumni Watch: Greg Franks, Ted Amato, Terry Weisner, Mike Peterson, Toni Katrena Peterson, Steve Brandon, Tommy Lucas, Angus Brown, Jeff Trebelhorn, Joe Hawkins, David Kaplan family, Terrence Smyth, Dennis Maloney

Thank you to special guests: Jan Watt, Ron and Fran Shaw always great to see you!
