BASEBALL: Alex Sparks flirts with perfection

April 10, 2014
Cleveland High School

Alex Sparks threw a compete one-hit game going into the seventh, he was working on a perfect game. He finished the day with 11 strikeouts and one earned run.

In addition to the brilliant pitching by Sparks, the bats came out to play, the Warriors scattered 11 hits all over the Roosevelt field.

  • Jack Sampson hit a bomb that would have cleared any reasonably distant fence, but instead settled for a double.
  • Cray Hamilton had another good offensive outing, collecting two more hits including a double.

Cleveland Baseball is back in action tomorrow vs. Roosevelt (4:30 @ Sckavone Field) in the finale of the three-game series. Expecting a larger crowd, it being closer to home.

In the PIL, Cleveland is all alone in 1st place, sitting at 4-1. Hope to see you at the game.
