Home » General NewsALL SPORTS: Cleveland Places High on Oregonian Cup ListDecember 23, 2012 Cleveland High School The 2012-13 Fall Standings list is out for The Oregonian Cup, and Cleveland was sixth on the 5A list, the highest position for any PIL school (6A, 5A or 4A).(To read about how the points are calculated or to see the list of previous winners, click here.) The Oregonian Cup is the annual award that brings students together. It recognizes overall school excellence in academics, activities, athletics and sportsmanship. The guiding force behind these point breakdowns is that every school that has a team or individual qualify for our state championships deserves point recognition. The amount of points is meant to be equitable across all activities with differences based on the number of teams and/or individuals participating. Teams that win a state championship will earn the same points regardless of the activity. The Oregonian is proud to partner with the Oregon School Activities Association in encouraging all students to reach higher for the OSAA's highest honor.
