Home » Boys' Soccer NewsBOYS SOCCER: Cleveland plays rematch with Sherwood on TuesdayNovember 5, 2012 By Steve McCrea of Cleveland High SchoolNext playoff game: Tuesday, November 6 at Sherwood High School, 7 PM The Cleveland Warriors travel to Sherwood on Tuesday for the next round of the state cup playoffs. The Warriors' last trip to Sherwood ended in what Cleveland coaches, fans and players felt was an injustice. After a scoreless first half, the Warriors significantly outplayed the Bowmen in the second half and controlled the play almost entirely until the last 5 minutes, when two consecutive PKs were awarded to Sherwood, allowing them to tie the game. Neither PK award seemed particularly merited by the supposed offenses. Coach Scott Killen expects the team to be charged up to right the wrongs of the earlier game. He says he has no special plans to deal with Sherwood's offense, feeling that Cleveland's defense has been strong for many games and that their extra motivation should help them play to the highest level they are capable. We'd like to see as many Warrior fans as possible at the game to cheer on our boys and help them move through to the next round. Be there Tuesday night - it should be a great game to watch!
