WINTER SPORTS: Athlete Successes

The following text by Principal Paul Cook was extracted from the Spotlight on Cleveland High School published April 2012  and available in full here.

This past winter our student athletes achieved some very notable successes, which included:

• Wrestling—1st in City; 11th in State
• Women’s swimming—1st in District
• Men’s swimming—2nd in District; 4th in State
• Men’s basketball—Advanced to 1st round in State playoffs
• Women’s basketball—league champions for the first time in school history.

Also, congratulations to our coaches for a successful season, and to these coaches who were selected by their peers as Coach of the Year: Mallory Fer­guson—Sundancers coach; Suzanne Washington—Women’s Basketball coach, and Jeff Zerba—Wrestling coach.
