GIRLS BASKETBALL: Cleveland 51, Benson 39 (1/5/2012)

Cleveland reeled off a 17-2 run in the final minutes of a close game to defeat host Benson in Northeast Portland. 

Cleveland was down 37-34 with three minutes to go in the fourth quarter, when back-to-back three-pointers from Lydia Anderson led to a 17-2 run, helped by a full-court press that led to two steals. 

Benson led 14-13 at the half, thanks to an impressive performance from freshman ChaQuinn Cook. During the first three quarters, Cleveland relied on center Emily Rommel to keep the team in the game. She finished with a game-high 17 points. 

Barby Leon led Benson with 13 points. Cook had 10.
