The HiLife's most recent National Edition winner is Valerie Hellinghausen with her review of Season 10 American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina debut album, Wildflower. The story was featured in their January 9 issue.
The HiLife's most recent National Edition winner is Jacob Arredondo with his review of the movie, Drive. The story was featured in their October 26 issue.
The HiLife's first National Edition winner of 2011-12 is Emily Cruz with her story about Local Firefighters Commemorate Casualties of 9/11 about the Fire Department in Nassau Bay. The story was published in the September 12 issue.
The HiLife's second week of National Edition proved to be a clean sweep with three stories chosen for the September 19 issue. Out of the hundreds of stories submitted each week to high school journalism, only 30 per week are picked. Congratulations to Valerie Hellinghausen for her story on Coach Cherry's Crumb Campaign helping children around the globe.
Congratulations to Dane Chronister for his column about being Willie the Wildcat.
And finally this week congratulations to last year's editor, Shannon O'Neil, for her contribution of an Owl City music review.
