Attention all Spanish Club members, we will not have a meeting today after tutorials but you do need to stop by Ms. Varsos’ room after school to sign up to work the booth at the carnival this Friday. This is very important, so please do not forget to stop by and sign up.

Are You a Leader on campus ?  Are You a High School Junior?  Would you like to attend an all expenses paid leadership camp?  If you answered yes, stop by the Counseling Center and pick up an application packet for the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) 2013.

Congratulations to the FFA Livestock Judging Team as they participated at the Brazoria County Fair this weekend where they got 5^th place.  The team consisted of Regan Delesandri, Amber Ashcraft, Stephanie Nichols and Amber Kaplan.  Also if you want to get a pig for the county fair this year there is a meeting tonight at 6:30 in Mr. Stokley’s room.

1. The library is closed this morning for TAKS testing. I will send an email when we reopen.

1. The library no longer has audio books that can be downloaded. The district decided not to renew with the company because it was so difficult to access those books. However, we have a growing e-book collection where the books can be read online. We’ve had reference books from GALE for awhile which can be accessed through the catalog or Gale Virtual Reference, but we now have 6 fiction e-books and have ordered 111 more! The titles that we currently have are as follows:

The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, & Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Breathe: A Ghost Story by Cliff McNish, Picture Perfect, & Perfect Shot by Elaine Alphin

1. To access those books, go to Favorites on your computer. Choose Library Catalog. Choose Clear Creek High School. Choose the Catalog tab. For Material Type, make sure it says Any Type. Type in the title or author. Look for the “e” icon beside the title. When you open the screen, it will have a Read Online tab on the right-hand side. Click on it and the book will open.

1. In January, all three League City high schools are going to do a “Read Across League City” program and we’re going to promote the kids to read one of the e-books (Breathe, Picture Perfect, or Perfect Shot).

Reminder to any FFA member interested in getting a pig for Galveston County there is a meeting tonight at 6:30 in Mr. Stokley’s room.

Anyone interested in ordering an FFA t-shirt needs to see Mrs. Terry by Wednesday, shirts are $15.
