Today, Friday, November 9, is a Regular Schedule Day
Any girl interested in trying out for the soccer team needs to attend meeting in room 253 on Tuesday, November 13, at 6:45 a.m. to get paperwork. Physicals need to be on file with Mrs. Supak before tryouts.
Congratulations to Vashaad Fincher who yesterday broke the Friendswood pool record for the 100 breaststroke! Also to Stephen Jacoby who qualified for TISCA.
Clear Brook Bowling Club had its first match on Friday against Alvin. Jocelyn Villarreal and Dirk Bleicher won their individual points but the teams could not pull off a win. They bowled against Clear Springs Wednesday, and our girls represented strong. Christina Oates was able to win her individual point. Elizabeth Oates bowled her highest game ever of 81. But the team lost a close match. The Boys team won all individual points and 2 of 3 team games. High Games were: DJ Casas a strong 258 and 226. Tommy Cao a 175. Anthony Propeck a 157. Taylor Tamas also won his point. Great job boys. It’s not too late to join our team. Just come to practice on Wednesday at AMF Alpha at 3:15. Our next match is Thursday at Alpha against Mount Carmel. Come cheer on your team. Go Brook!!
Freshman Black beat Brazoswood 26-8; Varsity plays Brazoswood on Saturday, November 10, at 2:00 p.m., at Veterans Memorial. Our opponent in the playoffs next week will be determined this weekend.
HOSA students have a meeting on Monday Nov 12th at 2:40 in Room 702.
Astronomy Club will be having a meeting on Monday, Nov. 12th at 2:45 in room 133.
UIL Science students, please meet in Harrell’s room 151 today at 2:35.
If you were unable to attend the robotics meeting please see Ms. Medina in room 145, Mrs. Vong in room 703, or Mrs. Cole-Lying for forms and information. The forms are due back by Thursday, November 15th.
Sophomores should turn in their money for the Mixed Bag fundraiser TODAY during all three lunches. Any late orders, after today, will need to be turned in to Mrs. Gault’s secretary, Mrs. Jacobson, and there will be no guarantee of delivery before the winter break.
The Clear Stars Evening Program begins its winter session on December 3rd. Classes meet two nights per week, and students may earn credits to catch up with their peers in a few short months! A representative from Clear Stars Evening School will be on campus during all lunches on Monday, Nov. 26th, so be sure to pick up a brochure if you need to catch up on your credits!
Juniors and Seniors: Are you planning to go to college? Now is the time to start thinking about taking the SAT College entrance exam. College Board is now registering for the December 1st test which will be given here at Clear Brook. If you want to maximize your potential for the test, NOW is the time to sign up for session 3 of the SAT Review Course. The session starts Monday & Tuesday Nov. 12th & 13th from 3pm-6pm with the practice test given in two days on Wednesday & Thursday Nov. 14th & 15th 3pm-6pm. The cost of this review course is $75. There is a reduced rate for those on free and reduced lunches. Attention Seniors: you have another chance to order your graduation invitations and caps and gowns. Balfour will be on campus today to take make-up orders during all lunches in the cafeteria. A $100 deposit is required to place your order.
Attention Clear Brook! The time has come for the Senior - Faculty Volleyball game! Come and watch your favorite teachers dominate, once again, the ever trying team of the seniors! The game will be played on November 16. If you are a senior, sign-ups will be on Mrs. Rodriguez's desk. If you want to play, then you must have a physical and medical form filled out. Spots are limited, so hurry and sign up! Faculty - if you are interested in pounding the seniors, then email Coach Ryan Davies and he will add you to the team. Hope to hear from you soon!
