Curley, who played at CU from 2007-2009, signed with the Florence Freedom in Northern Kentucky this spring after being released by the Atlanta Braves organization. He was selected as a reserve infielder for the West All-Star Team after collecting a league-leading 36 runs scored and .331 batting average so far this season. He ranks in the Top 5 in the league for home runs (9) and is second for total RBIs (38). During Curley's time as a Campbellsville Tiger, the third baseman from Beechwood High School helped guide CU to its first-ever NAIA World Series appearance in 2009. He was named the Mid-South Conference Player of the Year that season and hit .403 with 19 home runs. Though his three years, he became the Tigers' career record holder for home runs (37), career hits (219) and career RBIs (163). The Frontier League is an independent baseball league with 12 teams operating throughout the Midwest.
