Home » Basketball News12th Region Boys Basketball Tournament All SetFebruary 28, 2010 By William Warfield of CKYSportsThe West Jessamine Colts who won the 46th District title will battle District 48th runner-up, the Wayne County Cardinals in game one on March 3rd at 6PM. In game two it will feature the 45th District champion Boyle County Rebels vs. the 47th Distirict runner-up Casey County Rebels. On March 4th, hometown favorite and District 47th champions, the Pulaski County Maroons will battle the 45th District runner-up, the Danville Admirals. In game two it will be the 48th District champions, the McCreary Central Red Raiders vs. District 46th runner-up Mercer County Titans. March 8th will be the semi finals and the finals will be on March 9th at 7PM. William Warfield of ckysports.com weighs in on the draw and gives us his thoughts on this years 12th region tournament. I like the top bracket with West Jessamine. Wayne County had a great season but their district play was average. This game should be a close game but I like West to win this one with too much fire power. Guys like Austin Shearer and Gavin Dunagan will play a big game but in the end it will be Sherow, Pohl, Mefford, Polson, and Elliott who will make the difference. My final score prediction is Colts 63 and Wayne County 57 In game two I like the Rebels over the Rebels. How can I go wrong with that choice? Seriously, I like Boyle County in this barnburner. The size of Boyle County will be the difference. Look for West Jessamine and Boyle County to meet in the semi finals just like two years ago in the same gym. My final score prediction is Boyle County 66 and Casey County 59 On the bottom bracket I like Danville to bring the lightning but not the boom. I like Pulaski County in this game on their home floor. Duran Elmore your a preseason high school baseball All American, it is time to warm up for spring. My final score prediction is Pulaski County 61 and Danville 55 In the final 1st round game I think it will be the best game of the whole tournament. It is sad that these two teams have to meet in round one and one of the favorite teams will have to go home. I think in the end that McCreary Central and their tough season schedule under Coach Jones will be the major difference. The Red Radiers are very good and have more power than everyone talks about in Watts. Guys like Ben Wright and Jacob Dixon who hardly ever get any credit will soar in this game. My final score prediction is McCreary Central 57 and Mercer County 54 So in my oppinion I see a semi final match-up between West Jessamine and Boyle County in the top bracket and a match-up between McCreary Central and Pulaski County in the bottom bracket. Boyle County vs. West Jessamine will be a epic battle because of the neutral floor and everything on the line. In the end West Jessamine will move on to the finals. My final score prediction is West Jessamine 77 and Boyle County 75 Pulaski County vs. McCreary Central should also be a good game but McCreary Central is hungry and after last season they will see the Colts awaiting them in the finals. The Red Raiders will make the finals and challenge the Colts for the run to Rupp Arena. My final score prediction is Red Raiders 72 and Pulaski County 63 In the finals between West Jessamine and McCreary Central it is simply a coin toss. Last season the Colts won the finals and moved on all the way to the final four. This season we will put it on the line. Who is better? The Red Raiders who already hold a win over these Colts this season or the Colts who sent McCreary Central packing last year? Who is better Jarrod Polson or Aaron Watts? Who will have a better bench? Who will coach their best game of the year? Who will be answered but I can't answer that myself, after all, it is a coin toss. Good luck guys!
