Home » Girls' Tennis NewsA Successful Season for the BluejacketsOctober 26, 2012 Cambridge-Isanti Girls' TennisThe Cambridge-Isanti Girls' Tennis Team recorded some impressive victories this season.
The team ended the regular season with a record of 11-6. A record that is more impressive than it appears in light of the difficulty of the schedule, the most difficult schedule the Bluejackets have played. For the first time they had to play every team in the talented Mississippi 8 Conference twice. In accomodating that schedule change, Cambridge-Isanti was forced to drop five teams from the usual nonconference schedule, teams against whom the Jackets have experienced success.
The Cambridge-Isanti squad recorded some impressive victories during the season. They beat the Annandale Cardinals in an exciting 4-3 match; Annandale finished 2nd at the 2012 State Class A tournament. The Jackets beat Monticello at Monticello, a team that finished near the top of Section 8AA. The Bluejackets also went 7-1 against section 7AA opponents during the regular season, the only loss coming to Chisago Lakes.
The Bluejackets actually only lost to four teams during the regular season. Both St. Michael-Albertville and Buffalo defeated Cambridge-Isanti twice. STMA and Buffalo were the Mississippi 8 Conference Co-Champions. The Bluejackets had some very close misses against both of those teams with three of those four losses coming in 3-4 decisions, three set losses often being the difference. Cambridge-Isanti lost once to Monticello after defeating them earlier in the season. The other team to record a win against the Bluejackets was Chisago Lakes who also pulled out a victory in a tight 4-3 match.
Congratulations Bluejackets on a fantastic season!!!
