WHITEFISH - Polson earned a spot in Saturday's championship match of the Northwestern A divisional volleyball tournament with a 3-1 win over Whitefish on Friday night.

The Pirates will await the survivor from the losers' bracket in the 4 p.m. title match.

Frenchtown and Columbia Falls are still alive in the losers' bracket and will square off at noon. The winner will take on Whitefish at 2 p.m. with a berth in the championship on the line.

The top two teams will advance to the State A tournament next week in Bozeman.

Columbia Falls def. Frenchtown, 3-2

Hope Burlage collected nine kills and 13 assists as the Wildkats earned the 26-24, 23-25, 25-22, 14-25, 15-11 win in a wild first-round battle.

Taylor Peterson had four aces for Coulmbia Falls and Shawn Rowe picked up 33 digs. Haley Belgarde led the Wildkats in blocks with two.

Frenchtown received 10 kills and four blocks from Kayla Blood.

The Bulldogs advanced to the undefeated match with the 25-20, 27-29, 25-23, 25-19 second-round win.

Emily Sullivan and Abby Strellnauer each had 16 kills for Whitefish. Kelsey McFadden chipped in 12 digs and six aces and Taylor Havens gave the Bulldogs 41 of their 43 assists.

Lexie Hageness led the Loggers with 15 assists and six aces.

Following their first-round bye, the Pirates received 12 kills and 15 digs from Riley Kenney in a 25-22, 25-16, 20-25, 25-15 second-round victory.

Shalaina Duford dished out 30 assists and Heidi Rausch floored four aces for Polson. Kenzie Clay added a pair of blocks for the Pirates.

Columbia Falls received 14 assists from Burlage.

Blood's 11 kills helped lift the Broncs to victory in a loser-out match.

Josie Anderson set 33 assists for Frenchtown. The Broncs also received two blocks apiece from Morgan Ray and Vanessa Stavish and five aces from Shana Harlan.

Harley Nelson slammed 13 kills for the Loggers, who finished the season 4-11.
