Northwestern A Tournaments Suspended Due to Severe Blizzard
Winter storm preventing Frenchtown teams from traveling to Kalispell
Friday's games are being suspended at the Northwestern A divisional basketball tournaments in Kalispell due to severe winter weather that is preventing Frenchtown’s teams from traveling.

The Frenchtown girls were scheduled to play Libby at 4:30 p.m. at Glacier High School and the boys were slated to face Whitefish at 7:30 p.m. The games are being rescheduled for Saturday and an updated schedule is being developed and will be released soon. The Montana High School Association gave teams permission to play Sunday, according to executive director Mar Beckman.

“We want everybody to be safe,” he said.
A major blizzard is pummeling Western and Northwestern Montana and dangerous winds and drifting snowfall is being reported. The University of Montana, all Missoula County public schools and many other western Montana schools, including Columbia Falls, will be closed Friday based on the weather and a forecast that includes a blizzard warning stretching from Glacier National Park to south of Hamilton.

Beckman said the Northwestern A tournament is the only high school tournament being affected by the weather.
