RAPID CITY, S.D. — Kelsey DeWit, a 6-foot-2 senior center at Montana Tech, broke the 1,000- point career scoring barrier on Monday with an eight point performance in a 64-48 loss to the South Dakota School of Mines.

She was 2 of 7 from the field and 4 of 6 from the free throw line. She also had one rebound.

DeWit came into the game with 996 points. The former Columbia Falls High School standout has scored 150 points through 15 games this season.

DeWit scored eight points and had six rebounds on Saturday in a 75-59 Frontier Conference victory at Dickinson State.

Her season scoring high is 16 points in a 63-58 home loss to Central Washington on Nov. 16. She tallied 14 points in three other contests.

DeWit scored 304 points in 32 games her freshman season, totaled 247 points in 24 games as a sophomore and 303 points last year in 23 games.

She has 630 career rebounds for the Orediggers.

Montana Tech (8-7 overall, 3-5 Frontier Conference) hosts league foe University of Great Falls on Friday.
